Unique flatboat very suitable for peat/strontrace

Aaltje is the only sailing Groninger Bolschip in original condition. She is very suitable for sailing larger waters and for dry landings, because of the easy to lower mast (with counterweight) also very fine for trips on rivers and inland waterways. As a friends and family ship, or to sail with groups. Are you looking for a nice ship to sail the turf race or the strontrace, then Aaltje is totally suitable!
Aaltje is comparable to a sailing Westlander, skuts, etc.
Last (flat) inspection is from 2021. There is a value appraisal report available.

"Groninger Bolschip 'Aaltje'

The Aaltje is an Opgeboeide Bol or a Bolle met Boord, run in 1923 in Veendam from the yard of Gebroeders Grol van Stapel. In late 2017, Groninger Bolschip Aaltje came to De Wilde Vaart in North Holland. The Aaltje was built for peat merchant Feiken in Wildervank. He named the ship after his wife. Regularly the Feiken family went with the ship to the peat areas around Wildervank to get peat. The peat was sold from the ship.

Bolschepen belong to the Tjalken family. The ships are broadly built and therefore suitable for the shallow waters in the peat colonies. Characteristic is the narrow gunwale along the entire length of the ship. On the rudder blade is a horn of plenty, a sign of prosperity. From the horn comes a branch with grapes."
